It never fails, every time I plan a project, something goes wrong. This week I got the fabric samples of the 2 fabrics I chosen for my office. I rarely purchase yardage online before getting a sample. Web colors can be significantly different than the actual thing. And boy, am I glad I paid the $5.00 to get them! The colors are not bright at all. The salmon (pink) is actually red. The green is a medium olive. The blue is a dark colonial(?) blue. The yellow is more gold. And the brown...well, it's almost black. I was so disappointed.
Here is a comparison. The top row is what the fabric looks like (as close as I can get it with web colors) and the bottom is what I want in my office.
The problem for me is I really liked the pattern too. *sigh* So I'll have to go to my normal fabric haunts and
try to find something that catches my eye as much as my original selection. This could take days. Maybe I'll go to that quilt shop I've been passing on my way to work everyday. At least I can have some fun while I do this!
