A friend gave me several glass bead snowflakes for my tree last year. They are very fragile, ornate and gorgeous. I love them. Unfortunately...one has already been broken. It got me thinking about how to replicate their intricacy without the delicacy. So I played around with my glue gun, making dots and dashes mostly and then eventually coming up with snowflake designs.
What you need:
AND a snowflake template
You may want to practice a few dots and dashes until you are able to nudge each together without creating a glob or puddle of glue.
Hint: Start at the center and work out. DO NOT try to place dots/dashes right next to each other as they will ooze together (see top right photo of what not to do). You may need to glue, skip next dot/dash, glue, skip next dot/dash, etc.
After some trial and error I was able to make a set of 4 in an hour by making 2 at a time on the same glue gun pad.
Once you've mastered dots & dashes...you can use Glitter Glue Sticks to add a little more pizzazz.
