I read a amazing post over at Aberrant Crochet(TM). It is about her fascination with spiders and their webs. She has such a wonderful view of the little creepy crawlies that most people shy away from that I just had to share.
Spiders don't frighten or creep me out. Most arachnids and insects are on my nuisance list, not the scary list. Then again having children (especially my two boys) does that to you. Every laundry day was an adventure in slimy, oozy, scaly, and most of the time, what-the-he!!-is-that! You learn to carefully turn their pockets inside out over a basket because Mr. Toady, Fred the Snake, or Buddy the Hamster could be hiding in one of them. Not to leave out the snails that have since turned into a putrid, slimey ooze or the collection of earthworms, centipedes, and other insects that didn't quite make it and have since mummified into a crispy, crunchy blob.
The only creepy crawlies that give me pause are bees, but even they don't scare me...I'm allergic to them.
The one thing that does creep me out and I can't even type it without gagging is when someone "snots backwards". This is Pavlov's dog at its finest. One day I will get even with my brother for torturing me when I was little. My boys think this is absolutely hysterical and will do it on purpose when their friends are around.
So my question is...what creeps you out?
